Samudera Indonesia, a company engaged in shipping and logistics, has been awarded the "High Growth" accolade for its SMDR shares at the Indeks Tempo - IDN Financials Launching Emiten Appreciation Night held on June 23, 2023.

Among a total of 52 issuers with the highest financial performance on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), SMDR is recognized as a company that has shown financial growth in its portfolio over the past 5 years, specifically up to March 2023.

This credible index result is compiled based on several criteria, including market capitalization (market cap), daily stock trading frequency and volume, free float quantity, and the number of shareholders. "The index only covers issuers listed before 2019," said Marwiyati, Director of IDN Financials.

The measurement resulted in 4 index categories: the Main Index, High Dividend Index, High Growth Index, and Big Market Cap Index. SMDR was awarded in the High Growth Index category, signifying that it achieved a maximum net profit growth of 237.19% with a market capitalization accounting for 56% of the total market capitalization.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of SMDR issuers in the capital market indeed showed significant growth, supported by an increasing number of investors. According to data from the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI), in 2020, there were 3.88 million investors in the capital market, which surged to 7.48 million in 2021 and reached 10.31 million in 2022.

"As of May 2023, the number of investors in the capital market has reached 11.06 million, up 7.28% from the end of last year. In terms of age, 57.81% of investors in the capital market are under 30 years old, with total assets of IDR 49.22 trillion," she added.

This index is expected to serve as a reference for young investors, both from Generation Z and Millennials, who are interested in investing in the capital market.
